In Unknown Crossroads, I use primarily three motives. I transformed these motives in as many ways that I could think of: changing the rhythm, transposing them, harmonization, extending, layering, and turning into a background figure. I also wanted to combine two of my favorite styles at the time: John Luther Adams - style minimalism, with Periphery-style heavy metal.
