The Woman on the Rocking Chair (2014)

This piece is written for a good friend of mine, and his entire family. My friend's mother was battling cancer for a long time, and towards the end of her life, her friends bought her a rocking chair. She would sit on that chair and rock back and forth, knitting, for hours, smiling the whole time. She ended up passing away, so I dedicated this piece to honor her and her family.

I perform this piece for myself whenever a friend or a family member passes away, and it helps me cope and say goodbye.
